The Rise Of The False Church Revelation 17:1-18, By Dr. August Rosado

The Bible describes an end time false Church with global influence that will play a major role in Bible prophecy as the world descends into the final 70th Week.

There will be a global one world government in an unholy alliance with a one world global religion with roots going back to Genesis 11 with Nimrod’s tower of Babel.

Nimrod, whose name means, “let us revolt”, attempted not only a one world government but a one world religion centered at Babel. One people, one government, one religion, and one language.

God said in Genesis 9:7, “be ye fruitful, and multiply”. Nimrod revolted and said no! We will be one people and one language, and we will act independent  of God.

He attempts this by building a tower to reach unto heaven, showing man’s attempt to get to heaven bypassing what God said in His holy word. We see the same attempts today.

Jesus said He is the door, (John 10:9). In John 10:1 He said he that that does not enter by the door and climbs up another way, the same is a thief and a robber.

That is religion in a nutshell. Bypassing the Word of God and embracing humanism and secularism. This is the basis of false religions and many cults today.

Nimrod’s false religion and government has never died. There will be an attempt to revive what Nimrod did on the shores of Babe some 4,500 years ago.

Nimrod marries a woman by the name of Semiramis. You do not find her name in the Bible, but you do find her title, “queen of heaven”, (Jer 7:18; 44:18).

The children of Israel got caught up in this idolatry as they were baking cakes to the queen of heaven and provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger.

Nimrod and Semiramis have a son. His name is in the Bible in Ezekiel 8:14 as the Jewish prophet Ezekiel saw the women weeping for Tammuz in the Temple in Jerusalem.

Nimrod introduces the worship of the Mother/Son cult founded at Babel and has made its way into other religions of the world today. The Mother/Son cult is alive today.

Much of the world’s idolatry can be traced back to historical Babel or Babylon going back to Genesis 11:1-9, including the worship of the mother/son cult of Semiramis and Tammuz.

This mother/son cult found its way into other cultures as Ashtaroth/Baal in the Canaanite culture, Aphrodite/Eros in the Greek culture, Venis/Cupid in the Roman culture.

And today, Madonna/child in Roman Catholicism. Whenever there is an election of a new pope prophecy students jump the gun and try to tie this pope to the beast or false prophet.

The Jewish News Syndicate reported, Pope Leo XIV, AI and Israel. In his inaugural address, Pope Leo XIV expressed concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence, warning that it could undermine human dignity and replace human conscience with algorithms. 

The printing press, invented by Johannes Gutenberg in the 15th century, marked a turning point in human history. It democratized knowledge, allowing the mass production of books and, for the first time, making texts like the Bible widely accessible. Yet, for the Catholic Church, the press was seen as a threat. The Church feared the loss of its monopoly on interpreting Scripture, as individuals and groups began to interpret the Bible independently, leading to the Protestant Reformation.

The tremors of such reinterpretation extended far beyond the Christian community. For more than a millennium, the Catholic Church had promoted a theology that fueled antisemitism called “replacement theology” or “supersessionism.” According to this doctrine, God’s covenant with the Jews was superseded by the Christian covenant; biblical references to Jews, Israel, Hebrews and Zion were to be interpreted as symbolic of Christians. These teachings underpinned centuries of Christian hostility toward Jews.

Theodore Beza was the first leader to argue that God’s promises to the Jewish people, including their eventual return to their homeland, remained valid.

This new interpretation became a key driving force in supporting the Christian movement to restore the Jews to the Land of Israel. This revised doctrine culminated in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, and later, the U.N. Partition Plan of 1947, which led to the establishment of the modern-day State of Israel. Thus, the Catholic Church’s resistance to the information age ushered in by the printing press allowed others to fulfil God’s plan for the Jewish people.

Now, with the rise of artificial intelligence, Pope Leo XIV faces a new technological challenge. While AI promises to revolutionize industries, health care and daily life, the pope’s caution reflects a concern for how it could potentially dehumanize society.

Embracing new technology, however, could position the Vatican as a leader in guiding society through the moral implications of AI, just as it did when it embraced the Internet.

Bible prophecy calls for the union of a global one world government and religion with the possible use of this AI technology. This could be the tool the Antichrist will use for world domination, (Rev 13:13-15).

Revelation 17 lays it out for us with the partnership of this one world government and one world religion being overseen by the ruler from the Revived Roman Empire.

In Revelation 17 the false church is a called a woman six times and a whore three times. She is a spiritually promiscuous woman with global influence, (Rev 17:1-2).

She has the support of the beast of Revelation 13:1 as they both stand in solidarity against God, (Rev 17:3). The final ten nation confederacy gives them the backing for world rule.

John the Apostle is reminding his reader who this false church is and where she came from in Revelation 17:5. She is the mother who gave birth to paganism and idolatry.

When the Antichrist, being energized by Satan has all that he needs he double-crosses the false church as he no longer needs her, and goes about her destruction, (Rev 17:16-17).

God uses human government to destroy the false church for all the centuries of blood she has shed of God’s people throughout the ages. It is payback time.

The pope is neither the Antichrist nor the False prophet because he is the leader of a religion based on a seven-hill city in Rome, (Rev 17:9). Why would he want to destroy his own religion with over 1 billion members? Plus he is American born.

The Antichrist, however, will do exactly that,. Even though the beast comes from the revived Roman Empire, (Dan 9:26), loyalty means nothing to him other than pleasing Satan.

Jesus will return at the end of the tribulation period and destroy the Revived Roman Empire who seek to make war with the Son of God, (Rev 17:14). Jesus will establish His Kingdom from Jerusalem. 

With the talk of AI, the influence of the false church at Rome, the Anti-Semitism down through the ages and today is setting the stage for Bible prophecy. The Rapture could happen soon!
